RN License Plates

NOTE: The Maryland Vehicle Administration (MVA) has temporarily exhausted its supply of RN license plates and is working on refreshing its supply as soon as possible. MNA apologizes for the delay to the registered nurses waiting for their RN license plates.

The Maryland Nurses Association (MNA) offers you the opportunity to have specialized organizational RN license plates for your vehicle. The Maryland Vehicle Administration (MVA) authorizes the RN plates and carries the Florence Nightingale lamp and the acronym “RN.”

Please note you cannot obtain the application to request these organizational RN license plates through the MVA on your own. The MVA requires registered nurses to go through MNA, your state nursing association, to receive an application to request their own RN License Plates.

For an application, you will need to mail the following to our office:

  • A sheet with your full name, current address, current phone number, current email address, and your Maryland RN license number. You must be a registered nurse with an active RN license in Maryland to obtain these specialized tags.
  • A check or money order for $75.00 made payable to the Maryland Nurses Association.

Mail to:
Attn.: Marie Ciarpella/RN Tags
Maryland Nurses Association
38754 Grant Ave.
Selbyville, DE. 19975

Upon receipt of these materials, our office will return an MVA application for you to complete and return to our office. Once we review your application, it will be forwarded to the MVA for processing and your plates will be mailed to you from the MVA.

Please allow 5-8 weeks for your request for RN license plates to be processed through the MVA’s system.

Direct questions about the RN license plates to the MNA Director of RN License Plates  Marie Ciarpella at 443-392-8301.
